The Canadian companies will present some of the best fish and seafood, both live and frozen, such as Canadian lobster, scallops, snow crab, hake, whiting, cod, sablefish, haddock, monkfish, pike, caviar, halibut, sole, turbot, flounder, oysters, herring, mackerel, salmon, sardines, sea cucumber, sea urchins, cuttlefish, shrimp, prawns, skate, capelin, perch, clams, mussels, trout or red fish, to name a few. These products are characterized by their high quality and their elaboration process based on innovative techniques.

Seafood Expo Global Barcelona represents a key event for Canadian companies interested in diversifying their trade, investment and innovation relations with Spain and Europe, both in the fisheries, processing and aquaculture sectors.

Relations in the fishing sector between Spain and Canada have great potential for growth. The Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement between the EU and Canada (CETA) has opened up new markets for exporters and new opportunities for investors on both sides. This agreement provides, among other measures, for the elimination of tariffs. Nearly 96 percent of EU tariff lines for fish and seafood products are tariff-free.

This framework facilitates new business opportunities and give an important boost to trade and business relations.
