Salón de Gourmets is a key event for Canadian companies and their importers.

Relations in the agri-food sector between Spain and Canada have great potential for growth. The Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement between the EU and Canada (CETA), five years after its ratification, has opened up new markets for exporters and new opportunities for investors on both sides.

The Agreement provided, among other measures, for the elimination of tariffs. Nearly 96 percent of EU tariff lines for Canadian agri-food and seafood products are tariff-free.

Simplification of border procedures and increased access to suppliers are other measures envisaged by CETA. This framework will facilitate new business opportunities and give an important boost to trade and business relations between the two countries.
